A long task in demanding conditions - daily report : Task 4, PWC France
Aug 30 2024
Initially, a 150 km task was planned, but after careful consideration of the weather forecast and the risk of overdevelopment, it was reduced to 130 km. From the start, strong thermals quickly lifted the athletes to cloudbase, setting a fast pace for the race.
As the pilots headed west, they encountered tricky sections with frequent changes in rhythm. This was also when some shade came in, making the race even more challenging. As the big clouds developed and started raining in certain areas, the leading gaggle fully accelerated, racing toward goal, while those further back had to skillfully navigate around the showers.
Baptiste was the first to reach goal, securing both the task win and the overall lead in the competition.
