Paragliding World Cup France, Gourdon, 2024 – daily report : Task 3

  • Aug 28 2024

For Task 3, the task committee set an 87.7 km optimized course, directing pilots westward in an effort to complete the race before afternoon overdevelopment. The task proved to be fast-paced, with strong thermals challenging pilots to keep their gliders stable and open.

As the race progressed, clouds began to grow rapidly, adding pressure on the athletes to reach the goal quickly. Just as the first competitors arrived, a thunderstorm started to develop further west of the goal, forcing the task to be stopped at 14:33 for safety reasons. Arthur Moindrot managed to secure the task win.
