Another day in Paradise

  • Apr 25 2026

Pilots arrived on launch to a sky already forming nice cumulus clouds. The task committee called a 75.39km task to a new goal across the river to the north-east of Governador Valadares, near the town of Linopolis. The window opened at 11:30 with a 12:35 task start.

After tagging the first turnpoint pilots headed south to a turnpoint towards Galileia, then back north again before turning north-east towards goal. The lead gaggle largely stayed together for most of the task, with the top 35 pilots arriving to the end of speed within 3 minutes of the winner. In the end, 77 pilots made goal.

The overall winner was Julien Dusserre of France, with a winning time of 1:58:06 and an average speed of 35.25. The winning female was Marcella Uchoa of Brazil, and the winning team was Ozone.

After 5 tasks the overall podium is still up for grabs with a dozen pilots all within range of a podium position. The team competition is tight as well, so the next two days will be hotly contested.
