High Cloudbase and Manageable Winds: Court Takes Task 5 in Panchgani
- Feb 19 2026
Task 5 of the Paragliding World Cup in Panchgani, India, was set at 73 km under stronger south-westerly winds, which initially raised concerns about potentially difficult conditions—especially on the second, into-wind leg of the course.
Early in the day, the wind appeared quite strong, and pilots expected a more technical task. However, once on course, conditions proved more manageable than anticipated. Apart from a slightly tricky section along the ridge on the second leg, the wind was generally less of a factor than forecast, allowing pilots to maintain good progress throughout the task.
Cloudbase remained high, once again well above 3,000 meters, giving pilots plenty of altitude to work with and enabling efficient transitions. Combined with the still solid thermal activity, this resulted in another good task with consistent racing conditions.
The task was won by Swiss pilot Noé Court, adding another strong performance to the competition. In the women’s classification, Silvia Vanda Angela Buzzi Ferraris once again took the task win, continuing her consistent run in Panchgani.
With reliable flying conditions and high cloudbases throughout the competition, Panchgani continues to deliver solid racing days for the pilots.
