Creative Racing in the Skies of Aksaray

  • Aug 22 2025

Task 4 in Aksaray brought windy but otherwise excellent conditions, with a high cloudbase and strong climbs providing great racing potential.

A very unique task was set: concentric cylinders, with one of them serving as the End of Speed Section. This unusual format opened up a variety of tactical choices and made for exciting racing as pilots spread out on different lines.

The decisive move came from the leading gaggle, headed by Felix Rodríguez Fernández. They chose the northern route, completing the task and End of Speed Section there before making a spectacular 34 km final glide to goal.

It was a day of strategy, creativity, and impressive flying — exactly the kind of racing that makes the World Cup so special.
