Task 5 of the Paragliding World Cup in Feltre was initially forecast to be one of the most difficult of the event. With a strong inversion predicted until 14:00 and potential overdevelopment expected by 16:00, the weather window looked tight and uncertain.

However, as the day unfolded, conditions turned out far better than anticipated. Strong thermals developed in time for the 14:15 start, offering pilots a solid—if brief—opportunity to tackle the just-under-60km course.

Despite the tricky forecast, the sky held up, and the racing was on. The lead gaggle pushed hard through the task, but it was a near-magical line in the final stretch that allowed a few pilots to break away from the pack and make it to goal first. The fastest pilots crossed the line at 15:50, wrapping up a fast and dynamic task.

Arthur Moindrot claimed the task win, flying a smart and efficient race through the varying conditions. In the women’s category, Sarah Zimmermann soared into first place for the day and now leads the overall women’s rankings.
