Task 3 of the Paragliding World Cup in Feltre unfolded under overcast skies and with a strong inversion, setting the stage for a challenging and technical day. A zigzag route was planned to guide pilots around the valley, with the start scheduled for 14:00.

From the beginning, many pilots struggled to gain altitude in the stable conditions, with only occasional usable thermals making it through. Several competitors bombed out shortly after the start, while others fought their way forward through slow and demanding climbs.

Despite some overdevelopment building in the background, the conditions remained stable but marginal until the development started posing a clear safety concern—leading to the task being stopped before completion.

Still, results could be scored, and Xavier Laporte emerged as the task winner, navigating the day’s difficulties with precision. In the women’s category, Johanna Hamne claimed first place, finishing third overall for the day and climbing to third in the overall rankings.

After another weather-influenced task, all eyes are now on the forecast as pilots hope for more flyable and dynamic conditions in the days to come.
