Algodonales, Spain – May 17, 2025

The last day of the Paragliding World Cup in Algodonales brought windy and tense conditions as pilots prepared for a challenging triangle task—with the final leg going straight into the wind. Concerns were high on takeoff: would this be a survival mission?

Fortunately, the day delivered: strong thermals allowed the pilots to push through the wind and make solid progress around the course. Still, the wind never let up, and the final glide after the End of Speed Section (ESS) turned into a thriller. Pilots crept toward the goal line, some barely missing it by just a few meters. Among them was Luc Armant, whose heartbreakingly short landing cost him a podium finish.

At the top of the leaderboard, Andy Tallia remained untouchable, securing his first World Cup victory with a performance marked by consistency and strength throughout the week. In the women’s category, Alexia Fischer claimed the win, while Team Ozone soared to the top in the Teams ranking.

After a week of fast racing, coastal landings, and shifting skies, the competition in Algodonales wraps up with new champions, unforgettable moments.
