Bold Moves Pay Off: Bogdan Bialka Dominates Task 2 in Algodonales

Algodonales, Spain – May 12, 2025

Task 2 of the Paragliding World Cup in Algodonales delivered a technical and tactical challenge, with a 70 km optimized course leading pilots through low hills before transitioning to higher terrain where two concentric turnpoint circles offered multiple route options.

This design opened the door for creative flying—and Bogdan Bialka seized the opportunity. Breaking away from the main gaggle early, he chose his own line and flew solo for most of the race. His gamble paid off handsomely, securing a commanding win with a large margin. “Until the last moment I wasn’t sure if I totally messed up and everyone already went home, or if I am actually first in goal!” he said with a laugh after landing.

In the women’s category, Alexia Fischer took the top spot, navigating the complex conditions with precision. “It was really very difficult,” she shared. “The concentric circles and the windy part of this somewhat stable valley made it interesting and challenging. There was a lot of leapfrogging where one group would get stuck and then the next group would jump over their heads.”

With unique strategies and shifting leads, Task 2 showcased just how dynamic this competition is shaping up to be in southern Spain.
