Constance Mettetal Secures Women’s Title as Competition Nears Finale

Roldanillo, Colombia – Feburary 14, 2025

With conditions still proving unpredictable, organizers opted for a different takeoff today, hoping for a better window before tailwinds arrived. Cloud base remained low, but a 74.5 km task was set, with a planned race start at 13:00.

During takeoff, light drizzle occasionally appeared, requiring careful monitoring of conditions. The early part of the race was tricky, with weak lift making it difficult for pilots to gain altitude. However, as the task progressed, conditions improved, with overdevelopment around parts of the course but sunny skies over the valley, providing crucial lift.

Most pilots took the flats on the final leg north, but a few gambled on a mountain route further east, which provided better climbs. Among them was Markus Anders, an unexpected name at the top, who used this advantage to claim his first task win. In the women’s category, Alexia Fischer took the day’s victory.

Overall, Maxime Pinot continues to hold his lead after securing second place in today’s task. Meanwhile, Constance Mettetal has built such an insurmountable lead in the women’s category that she has already secured first place overall—making her the undisputed women’s champion of the Superfinal before the final task even begins.

With just one day left, the battle for the remaining podium spots remains fierce as the competition nears its conclusion.
