Roldanillo, Colombia – Feburary 10, 2025
Another challenging day awaited pilots at the Paragliding World Cup Superfinal, as the morning began with a low cloud base and rain before the briefing at around 10 a.m. Once the rain cleared, organizers rushed to set a task and get the race underway before the Pacific wind could shift conditions at takeoff.
Task 4 was an 88 km route, once again finishing at the Airport of Obando. The race turned out to be incredibly fast, pushing pilots to their limits. The final glide proved particularly dramatic, with many competitors arriving extremely low at the End of Speed section, including Task Winner Honorin Hamard, who managed a tight recovery to reach goal. Others weren’t as lucky, with many bombing out just before the finish line.
“It was epic, especially on the final glide,” Honorin said after securing the win. His victory earned him the maximum 1000 points for the day, propelling him to second place overall behind Maxime Pinot, who finished second in the task and continues to hold on to the top spot.
In the women’s category, Constance Mettetal once again dominated, claiming another task win and further solidifying her lead. With only a few days left in the competition, the fight for the podium remains fierce as the Superfinal heads into its final stretch.
