14th Paragliding World Cup Superfinal 2024 : Task 3

After a weather-induced rest day, competition at the Paragliding World Cup Superfinal finally resumed with another exciting task. While the morning started with low clouds, conditions gradually improved, allowing for a delayed but much-anticipated return to racing.

The task took pilots north before sending them all the way south to Tulua. Early on, weak conditions made the first major valley crossing particularly tricky, with many pilots getting dangerously low. However, as the day progressed, thermals became easier to find, aided by scattered clouds and birds marking the lift. Despite the improved conditions, the sky remained mostly overcast throughout the task, adding an extra layer of difficulty.

Once again, Maxime Pinot proved unstoppable, securing yet another task win and maintaining his overall lead, even as the rest of the rankings continue to shift. In the women’s category, Alexia Fischer claimed victory for the day, but Constance Mettetal remains in first place overall, holding onto her strong position in the race for the Superfinal title.

With competition heating up and only a few days left, the fight for the top spots remains intense—pilots will be looking to make their moves in the final stretch of the event.
