Roldanillo, Colombia – Feburary 7, 2025

With the risk of overdevelopment still high, the second task of the Paragliding World Cup Superfinal was set slightly shorter at 88 km. The morning began with a low cloud base, but it steadily rose until the 11:45 start.

The race kicked off with a large start cylinder, giving pilots the choice of launching from the mountains or the flats. Most opted for the more optimized start in the flats on the opposite side of the valley from takeoff. Once the race was underway, the pace was fast.

In just about two hours, the first pilots crossed the goal line, and for the second day in a row, Maxime Pinot claimed victory in the overall ranking. In the women’s category, Constance Mettetal took the win, securing her place at the top of the leaderboard. With both Pinot and Mettetal now leading their respective categories, the competition is heating up.

Constance Mettetal has already won a Superfinal before—can she do it again? Time will tell, but her performance so far suggests she’s a strong contender. When asked about his race strategy, Pinot had a simple yet surprising answer: “I was sick all night, and my strategy was just to go to goal…” It turns out that was more than enough to take his second consecutive task win.
