Rain and Strong Winds Force Cancellation of Superfinal Opening Task in Roldanillo
Feb 05 2025
Roldanillo, Colombia – January 05, 2025 – The eagerly anticipated first day of the Paragliding World Cup Superfinal in Roldanillo started with high hopes, but the weather had other plans. Pilots and organizers optimistically made their way to takeoff, expecting conditions to improve. However, heavy rain and strong north winds in the valley soon made it clear that flying would not be possible.
After an hour of waiting and closely monitoring the weather, the task committee made the call to cancel the day’s task. Safety remains the top priority, and with no viable window for racing, competitors were left to hope for better conditions in the days ahead. Despite the disappointment, spirits remain high as pilots look forward to getting the competition underway as soon as the weather allows.
