PWCA Asian Tour India, Bir, 2024 – daily report : Task 5
After two days of challenging conditions with low cloudbase and hazy skies, the Paragliding World Cup in Bir faced similar weather on task 5. With the cloudbase still low and visibility limited, organizers designed a task that would keep pilots safe while offering an engaging challenge.
The course for task 5 consisted of multiple triangles that pilots had to fly repeatedly, navigating back and forth between turning points. This design proved to be an ideal solution, allowing pilots to stay within manageable airspace while still testing their strategy and precision. Despite the tricky conditions, the pilots rose to the challenge, completing the task in the mystical, hazy atmosphere.
The day’s winner was Amit Kumar, who demonstrated exceptional skill and consistency to claim the top spot.
