13th Paragliding World Cup Super Final (2023 Season) Baixo Guandu, Brazil :  March 5th – 16th 2024 : Task 1

  • Mar 06 2024

Pilots arrived on launch with clouds below them, but by the time the launch window opened, cloudbase had risen to just below 1200m and the wind on launch was good.

A 67.6k task was called that would take pilots across the river for the first turnpoint, then across the crater, and ending at the scenic Laranjeiras goal.

Pilots mainly stayed above the rocks to the left of launch before the start, then headed for the low hills on the way to Baixo Guandu. Shortly after pilots crossed the river, rain developed on course and so the task was officially stopped for rain at 1PM.

For the pilots flying Baixo Guandu for the first time, it was a good warm-up for a route that they will likely see again.
